Margie E. Mitchell, 59, of Kennerdell, passed away on Saturday, August 2nd at 10 a.m. at her residence.

Born December 2, 1954, in Franklin, Margie was the daughter of the late Earl Anthony and Peggy Joyce Ausel Raup. She was married to Darrell Mitchell and he preceded her in death in 2004.

Margie retired in June from Polk Center where she had been employed as a Resident Service Aide for many years. She enjoyed gardening, yard sales and auctions.

Margie is survived by her sons, Caleb Mitchell of McKees Rocks, and Jay Mitchell and his wife, Heather, of Masillon, Ohio; her daughter, Yo Thornhill and her husband, Brent of Forrest Hill, LA; and her 3 grandchildren, Ethan Mitchell, Brynna Mitchell, and Saige Thornhill. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard Raup and his wife, Michelle, of Franklin, Earl “Mike” Raup, Jr. and his wife, Robin, of Rocky Grove, and Chester Raup and his wife, Chris, of Reno; and her companion, Lester Adams.

The Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin will be handling arrangements. A private “Pot Luck” Picnic in Margie’s memory will be held at the family home at a later date at the convenience of her family.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Margie’s memory to the Venango County Humane Society — PO Box 1045, Oil City, PA 16301.
