Pauline E. Shorts, 83, of Franklin died at 5:28 am on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Sugar Creek Station.

A daughter of Grove and Dora DeLong Shoffstall she was born in Franklin on May 29, 1931. She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

Pauline had worked at G.C.Murphy’s for several years. She was a volunteer for the Agency on Ageing. Pauline loved her farm animals a pet duck, Herman and a crow named Dickey Bird were among her favorites.

She was of the Methodist faith.

On November 7, 1981 she married Thomas C. Shorts Jr. who died September 28, 1994.
Surviving are two daughters Christy Latchaw and Cindy Boyd both of Franklin; two sons Robert Steven Boyd and his wife Lynn and Randy Boyd and his wife Tina all of Franklin; 6 grandchildren Kevin Latchaw, Melanie Bailey, Ryan Boyd, Lydia Boyd, Marissa Wyant and Dillon Wyant and 6 great-grandchildren Caden Boyd, Cota Matthews, Nick Roberts, Shyanne Lynch, Mason Lynch and Darren Wyant. Also surviving are 4 brothers Donald Shoffstall of Ohio, Richard Shoffstall of Florida, Grover Shoffstall and Lawrence Shoffstall of Franklin and her sister Mary Wentworth of Franklin.

In addition to her parents and husband Pauline was preceded in death by a granddaughter Gail Boyd, a brother Charles Shoffstall and two sisters sister Reva McDevitt and Nancy Sires.

Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home, 312 W. Park St. from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Private services will be held at the convenience of her family.

Interment will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.
