Member_137329Helen Virginia Lynn, 81, of Oil City, formerly of Seneca, passed away at 7:10 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

She was born February 2, 1933 in Cannonsburg, to the late Arnold and Therma (Campbell) Pease.

She was a 1951 graduate of New Philadelphia High School in Ohio.

Mrs. Lynn was a forty-nine year member of Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City, and was a faithful television ministry worshiper.

Helen enjoyed playing card games, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She worked in several retail stores in Oil City, including the Triangle Shoe Store, until its closing in 1975. For twenty-six years, she was a well-known notary in Seneca, retiring in August 2010. Helen loved her service in the notary field and all of the people that she was able to meet and help through the years.

On July 3, 1954 she married Wesley Gray; and he preceded her in death September 15, 1975. She later married Harvey Lynn on May 21, 1977; and he preceded her in death on July 26, 1993.

Surviving are her three children, Penny Lux and her fiancé Tom Lehnortt, Roy Gray and his wife Marj, and Amy Dykins and her husband Gene, all of Oil City; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leroy Pease and wife Rose of Eloy, Arizona and Bill Pease and wife Barb of New Philadelphia, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Phylliss Cowden and husband Russell and Fran Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are two close friends whom were like daughters to Helen, Barb Buzard and family of Knox, and Judy Mathews of Seneca.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Lynne Lang; a son-in-law, Richard Lux; two brothers, Ernest and Charles Pease; and two sisters, Mae and Ruth Ritenour.

Friends will be received Monday (Aug. 11) from 6-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11 a.m. — 1 p.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township.

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Byron Myers, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Oil City.
