cliffordClifford L. VanTassel, 81, of Lucinda passed away Wednesday , August 13, 2014 at Clarview Nursing and Rehab Center in Sligo after a extended illness.

Born on August 2, 1933 in Halton PA he was the son of Milo and Ela Edeburn VanTassel.

He attended the Belltown School up to the eighth grade.

On July 7, 1978 Tylersburg, PA Clifford was married to the former Ruth Ann Henry VanTassel, who survives.

He attended Greenwood United Methodist Church Vowinckel PA

Cliff was a truck driver for 50 years. He worked for various companies during his career as an owner operator.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing with his puppies, Pickle and Jake, and watching NASCAR especially his favorite driver Jeff Gordon.

Cliff was a member of Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann Henry VanTassel of Vowinckel, a son Jason and and his wife Kim of Rimersburg, a son Christopher and his wife Rebecca of Tionesta, and a daughter Shasta VanTassel and finance James Powell of Tionesta. Four grandchildren Johnathan VanTassel, Calvin VanTassel, Chloe VanTassel, and Abigail Powell, all of Tionesta, one step-grandchild Alex Rowe of Rimersburg. one brother Edward VanTassel and a good friends Wayne and Jane Best of Marienville also survive. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents he was proceed in death by four brothers and seven sisters.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 7pm to 9pm at Faller Funeral Home, Inc. in Fryburg.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Greenwood United Methodist Church Vowinckel PA on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11 am with Pastor Dan Richter presiding.

Burial at a later date will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family request donation be made to Faller Funeral Home Inc. to help with funeral expenses.
