Mary Ann Brownÿ ÿ ÿ#œ÷šBmxMary Ann Brown, 85, of Oil City, entered into eternal peace at 5:55 am, Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Oakwood Heights.

Born September 13, 1928 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late William and Mildred Steirly Toy.

She leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving husband Richard Brown; a son, James (Mary Ann) Brown of Oil City; and two daughters, Carol (David) Weaver of Oil City and Sherry (Allan) Erickson of Youngsville.

Mary Ann had six grandchildren, Christie and Jamie Brown of Hagerstown MD, Michael (Kelly) Weaver of Wilmington NC, Lisa (Joshua) Hornbeck of Oil City, Holly Erickson and companion Jim Dunn and Kris (Krista) Erickson of Youngsville. There are three great grandchildren, Brianna Hornbeck of Oil City, Leigh Erickson of Youngsville and Shannon Weaver of Wilmington NC; and several nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Kay Washlon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Toy, and a sister Lois Kimes.

In addition to raising her three children, she had a real talent for decorating her home and made many wreaths and flower arrangements for local craft shows. Mary Ann especially loved to decorate her home for Christmas, which was her favorite time of the year.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 215 E Bissell Ave, Oil City, where she has been a member her whole life. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am Friday with the funeral to follow at 11 am.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church’s organ or music fund, due to Mary Ann’s love of music, or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
