(EYT) – A 20-year-old Hawthorn man is facing numerous charges after he allegedly fled from police. Clarion-based State Police say the incident happened on August 16 at 6 a.m. when Brandon McElravy, 20, of Hawthorn, drove a 2002 GMC Sierra pickup truck through Alcoa park and hit multiple trash cans. Police say when they encountered McElravy on State Route 28, he allegedly fled the area. The pursuit was terminated for safety reasons. McElravy was later apprehended at his residence in Hawthorn. McElravy is facing the following charges in connection with the incident: – DUI: Gen Imp/Inc of Driving Safely — 1st Offense, Misdemeanor – Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor – Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Officer, Misdemeanor – Minor Prohibited/Operating W/Alcohol, Summary – Careless Driving, Summary – Reckless Driving, Summary He was arraigned in front of District Magistrate Miller and placed in the Clarion County Jail, where he was later released after posting $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 2.
