Assault Reported at Psychiatric Center in Monroe Township

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, around 9:00 p.m. on August 17, an assault occurred at Clarion County Psychiatric Center, in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

Police say a 49-year-old male patient at the Clarion County Psychiatric Center allegedly got into a disagreement with staff over taking his medicine.

According to police, the accused allegedly attempted to lock himself in his room, and staff members had to get into the room for his own safety,

As the two victims — a 20-year-old Hadley man and a 24-year-old Clarion man — entered the room, one was grabbed by the neck, and the other was punched in the face several times.

No other details were released.
