Hit and Run Accident in Redbank Township Lands NY Man in Clarion Hospital

REDBANK TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, a hit-and run crash occurred on SR 28 in Redbank Township, Clarion County.

The crash occurred as an unknown driver in a red vehicle was traveling north on SR 28 and Gerald S. Simpkins III of Mount Vernon, NY was traveling south on SR 28 in his 2004 Honda Element.

The unidentified driver moved into the southbound lane and attempted to pass several vehicles and made contact with Simpkins causing him to leave the roadway on the west side.

The unidentified vehicle continued traveling north on SR 28.

Simpkins was transported to Clarion hospital for treatment of his moderate injuries.

The vehicle in question was described as a red car which is supported by red paint transferred onto Simkins’ vehicle.

The vehicle will have evident damage from the collision in the front driver’s side of the vehicle.
