Barbara C. Whitling

Barbara C. Whitling, 60, of Knox, Pa. passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, August 18, 2014, at The Caring Place in Franklin following an extended illness.

Born in Mt. Pleasant, West Virginia on Dec. 15, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Homer Eugene and Beatrice Joy Wittenton Lutz.

Barbara was a 1972 graduate of ACV Schools at Foxburg, and had been employed as a cake decorator with Tom’s Riverside in Knox for a number of years.

She was Lutheran by faith.

A longtime “Elvis” fan, she made over seven trips to Graceland as well as attending many Elvis impersonator concerts.

She enjoyed vacationing with family and friends, hunting, and fishing.

Surviving are her husband, Garry Whitling, whom she married May 10, 1979. Also surviving are five sons: William Edwards of Knox, Clay (Stephanie) Edwards of Parker, Bobby (Judy) Whitling and Jeff (Julie) Whitling of Knox, and Garry (Sarah) Whitling of Natrona Heights, Pa.; one brother, Homer “Ed” Lutz of Butler, as well as eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Monday, Aug. 25th at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 So. Wash. St., Eau Claire, where funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM.

Interment will follow at East Unity Cemetery, Cherry Valley Boro., Butler County.
