ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) — Kittanning-based State Police say an incident occurred on Tuesday, August 19, that led to a Kittanning man facing charges for hindering apprehension of a fugitive.

Court documents indicate 37-year-old Kenneth Marlin Boarts, II, of Kittanning, has been charged with Hindering Apprehension, Felony 3.

Police say while attempting to serve a felony warrant on Gregory Louis Douglas at Boarts’ residence, Boarts was allegedly informed by several troopers that Douglas had a felony warrant, and if he had any contact with Douglas, he was to contact the State Police immediately.

Boarts was also allegedly informed that if he were to aid Douglas in any way, he would be charged with Hindering Apprehension, according to police.

As a result of a pursuit on August 18, police say it was determined that Boarts allegedly borrowed a vehicle from his girlfriend’s mother and traveled to a known address in Adrian and allegedly picked up Douglas.

After locating Boarts walking along Anderson Creek Road in Valley Township, Armstrong County, he was arrested and charged with Hindering Apprehension.

No other information was provided.
