Alice J. Manross

Alice J. Manross, 85, of Fagundas, died Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 20, 2014, at her home. She was born in Venango County, May 29, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles and Mildred Schrecengost Dolby, and had lived in Fagundas since 1955.

She had worked at the Sylvania Company as a machine operator. She enjoyed fishing and bowling, where she had 45 years of perfect attendance on various bowling teams, even bowling left handed when she suffered a broken right arm.

She was a member of West Hickory United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Manross, April 15, 2010; and two sisters, Donna Armstrong and Charlotte Fratus.

She is survived by two sons, David C. Manross and John B. Manross, both of Fagundas.

Friends will be received at the James M. Higgins Funeral Home, 3 Elm St., Tidioute, Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be conducted in West Hickory United Methodist Church, Monday morning, at 11, with the Rev. Larry Neal, pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Fagundas Cemetery.
