Town & Country Day Set for Today at Long Acres Potato Farms

town and countryTIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) — Town and Country Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 23, at Long Acres Potato Farms, a third generation family farm.

The Beck family and the Clarion-Venango Holstein Club are sponsoring the event to showcase what farmers are doing to increase food production in a sustainable manor.

From 11:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. visitors are invited to participate in a variety of events for adults and children.

Activities include pony rides, a petting zoo, a hands-on Mobile Agriculture Science Lab, a straw maze, and more.

Equipment demonstrations, a tour of the 3300-acre fresh pack potato and grain farm, and a hands-on potato dig will also be featured during Town and Country Day.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet PA Secretary of Agriculture George Greigg and listen to Former Secretary Dennis Wolfe speak about the challenges and opportunities our food supply faces.

Town & Country day will even get a special visit from Punxsutawney Phil.

Live music will also be performed by “Leather and Lace” and the “Bob Hartle Band” on the stage.

Free milk and ice cream will be provided.

Long Acres Farms is located at 11832 Route 36, Tionesta, Pa.
