God received another saint into his kingdom in the name of Rose Ann Helms, 82, on August 22, 2014. She was the ripe old age of 83.

Rose was born in Pittsburgh, PA., the daughter of Jesse & Bonnie Mains Colbert.

Rose attended schools in Dunbar Twp.

She was married to Joseph Helms, the love of her life for 59 years.

She had three children, Karen, Joe and David, who she loved dearly.

Rose was a member of St. Stephen’s Church and had formerly been a member of St. Venantius Church in Rouseville, where she had been President of the Rosary Society.

She loved to play bingo and was very good at winning and was also a lifelong member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She is survived by her three children Karen Doran & her husband James of Franklin, Joseph Helms Jr. & his family of Madison, OH, David M. Helms & his family of Oakland, MD, 9 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Rose is also survived by her sisters, Elda Dodrill of Dunbar, PA., Anna Mae Urie Scottsdale, PA., Rhoda Kennedy of North Carolina, Carolyn Detweiler of Mt. Pleasant, A brother, John Zurick of PA.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters, Jesse Colbert, Philip A. Colbert, James Colbert, and Brenda Colbert.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M. Monday in St. Stephen’s Church with Fr. Matthew Ruyechan, Presiding.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
