2ceb56f07d869afdRobert (Bob) Lincoln Kapp, 86, of Pine City passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at his daughters residence where he had made his home since his decline in health.

Born February 12, 1928 in Pine City, he was the third of four children to Calvert and Cora (McCool) Kapp.

Bob attended the Pitch Pine two room school which is not the Pine City Recreation Hall. He was employed by Kahle Coal Company until they closed then with Ancient Sun Inc. until his retirement in 1991, a retirement with no time to sit idle.

After retirement he was back on a bulldozer clearing a large piece of property. When that was finished he planted a large garden which he shared freely with family and friends. He worked and supervised this year’s garden planting and enjoying the fruits and he and his family’s labors.

He was a member of the Clarion County Rod & Gun and the Pine City Recreation Hall.

Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman in his early years. He and his wife made annual fishing trips to Canada over 25 years with family and friends.

He continued to hunt deer with his son-in-law through this past deer season and enjoyed cooking breakfast for fellow hunters who stopped by the “camp”.

He and his wife were avid campers in their early years. Bob was a great storyteller, his stories were enjoyed by all whether it was the first of tenth time you had heard them. He had a contagious laugh that will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Bob married the former Mary Kathryn (Katie) Fritz on February 1, 1947 with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage with before her passing on August 14, 2010.

Bob is survived by a son Robert (Jeanne) Kapp of Fairplay, SC, three daughters, Connie (Keith) Rex of Shippenville, Debra (Stephen) Schwabenbauer of Knox and Cindy (Randy) Schrecengost of Bloomsburg, eight grandchildren Robin (Alferd) Starkman of Oakdale, PA, Robert ”BJ” of Cary, NC, Michael (Sherry) Rex of Leeper, Mark Rex of Cranberry, Nicholaus Schwabenbauer (Jessica) of Clarion, Joshua Schwabenbauer (Ashley) of Pittsburgh, Zachary Schwabenbauer and Colten Schrecengost of Bloomsburg.

Also surviving are two step-granddaughters, Crystle Schrecengost of Los Angeles, CA and Nicole Schrecengost of East Norriton, PA, six great grandchildren Matthew, Michael and Marc Starkman of Oakdale, Robert Baxter of Cary, NC and Kennedy and Julianna Schwabenbauer of Clarion, a sister Alice Hurst of Cranberry, a brother Ralph (Betty) Kapp of Knox and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by a grandson Adam Schwabenbauer, a brother and sister-in-law Shirl and Kathy Kapp, a brother-in-law Odis Hurst, and a son-in-law Edward “Bear” Schwabenbauer.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, 504 East Penn St., Knox, Pa.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Evans, Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice chaplain, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Cedarview Memorial Park.
