Ruth J. Shick, 93, of Oak Ridge died August 26, 2014 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

Born June 13, 1921 in Sugar Valley Armstrong County, she was the daughter of Jesse E. and Amanda E. (Rearick) Shick.

She married Glenn C. “Dud” Shick on March 11, 1939 he preceded her in death on August 10, 1999.

Ruth was a homemaker. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and she dealt in antiques for over 40 years.

She is survived by three daughters; Sally Yount and husband Larry of Mayport, Betty Neese and husband Dave of Corsica, Dottie Bowersox and husband Bob of New Bethlehem, one son Glenn Shick Jr. and wife Brenda of Oak Ridge, nine grandchildren; Gary and Gene Smith, Richard Miller, Amanda Foringer, Amy Whitling, Bobby Bowersox, Carrah Ochs, Brent and Brandon Shick, twelve great grandchildren, one brother Clair “Pete” Shick and wife Mary of Mayport.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter; Nancy Miller, four sisters and two brothers.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 28, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 29, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Cindy Duffee officiating.

Interment will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Mahoning Twp. Armstrong County.
