MONROE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, a 37-year-old man suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 West, at approximately 12:48 p.m. on August 28, in Monroe Township, Clarion County.

The crash occurred as Douglas D. Wingard, 37, of Big Run, was traveling west on I-80 in a 2000 Ford Explorer, police say.

Wingard allegedly swerved to the right to avoid hitting a vehicle that was slowing down ahead of him.

Police say Wingard lost control of his vehicle and it rolled over onto its roof and back onto its wheels, where it came to a final rest.

According to police, Wingard was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries.

He was transported to Clarion Hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Wingard was charged with a traffic violation.
