Wolbert photoStephen M. Wolbert, 67, of Lucinda, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 4, 2014 with his beloved family at his side.

Born December 15, 1946 in Lucinda, he was the son of the late Cyril Wolbert, Sr. and Philomena Baumcratz Wolbert.

Steve was a 1965 graduate of North Clarion High School and then attended DuBois Business College. In his earlier years, he was employed by the Central Insurance Company and General Telephone Co. in Lexington, Kentucky. Upon his return to Lucinda, Steve was employed by the Lake Erie Franklin Clarion Railroad until his retirement in 2009.

Steve was an avid sports fan who rooted wholeheartedly for the Pirates, Steelers and Penn State. He loved his 5 cats who gave him much joy. He also loved to travel and spend time outdoors, where he was always tending to his beautiful lawn, garden and flowers.

Steve is survived by his 7 siblings: Bonnie Carroll Judy of Shippenville; Mary Bauer of Falls Church, Virginia; Mike Wolbert of Lucinda; Frank Wolbert of Shippenville; Marge Bauer and her husband, James “Doc” of Lucinda; Cyril Wolbert, Jr. of Lucinda and Suzanne Carbaugh and her husband, Curtis of Marienville. He is also survived by his special friend, Susan Dale and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sisters, Norma Lauer and Dorothy Lauer and his brother, Patrick.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, September 7, from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 8, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
