Zachary James Proper, 15, of Oil City, died at 11:30 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014.

He was born on July 27, 1999 in Franklin.

Zach previously attended Oil City schools, where he enjoyed playing football .

He attended the Victory Heights United Brethren Church.

Zach enjoyed canoeing, camping and swimming.

He is survived by his mother, Karen Kapp and her husband Ryan of Oil City; his father, William A. Proper of Franklin; two sisters, Makayla and Alyssa Kapp of Oil City; and his brother, John Kapp of Oil City.

Also surviving are his grandparents, John and Beverly Beach of Oil City; a great-grandfather, Hubert Sharp of Oil City; his aunts and uncles: John and Jamie Beach of Oil City and Tammy Bodien, also of Oil City; and his cousins include Katie, John, Dylan, and Bailey Beach, Ashley and Jessica Bodien, and Aubree Colburn.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Patty Sharp.

A private viewing and funeral service will be held for the family.

Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery in Kennerdell.
