OI636046525_garrywhitling001GARRY D. WHITLING, 66, of Knox, Pa. passed away Tuesday morning (09-09-14) at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following an extended illness. His death follows his wife Barbara who passed August 18, 2014.

Born in Knox, Pa. on July 20, 1948, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Hazel Lillian Culp Whitling.

Garry was employed over forty-four years by Joy Manufacturing Co. at Franklin from where he retired.

He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening, and tending to horses.

Surviving are five sons: Garry (Sarah) Whitling of Natrona Heights, Jeff (Julie) Whitling and Bobby (Judy) Whitling both of Knox, William “Billy” Edwards of Knox, and Clay (Stephanie) Edwards of Parker; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews; two sisters: Violet May Best of Knox and Silvia Jean Gibbons of Oil City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara C. Lutz Whitling, whom he married May 10, 1979 and who passed Aug. 18, 2014, and a brother John Whitling who passed in early 2014.

Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Friday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 So. Wash. St., Eau Claire, where funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM. Interment will be in East Unity Cemetery, Cherry Valley Borough, Butler Co. at the convenience of the family.
