Wanda Faith Stewart

Wanda Faith (Nichols) (Fleek) Stewart, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown, surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 18, 1921, in Grinnell, Iowa, to Charles F. and Ruth (Stickle) Nichols. The family moved to Erie County, Pa. when she was quite young.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Earl Fleek, who passed away on April 20, 1976, as well as a son, William L. Fleek, and by her second husband, G. Dale Stewart, who passed away on December 8, 2005. Three sisters — Naomi Clute, Doris Humes, and Mary Avery — also preceded her, as well as a granddaughter Ila Fleek.

She and her first husband who were married on August 30, 1940, had a farm in Edinboro and operated Fleek’s Market in Titusville for many years. She was well known for her culinary skills, and her potato salad was a favorite of many. Later in life, she worked as a cook for the Venango County Home. She loved to garden and was a lover of birds, especially hummingbirds. She had great inner strength and fortitude. Her crocheted and cross-stitched items were favorites of the many recipients. She and her second husband created hand-crafted toys for charity and for their grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Robert E. Fleek, and wife Francie of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Richard C. Fleek and his wife Elfriede of Ormond Beach, Fla.; her daughter Carol Ann Hauptman of Titusville; her daughter-in-law Joyce (Cochran) Fleek of Springboro and stepdaughters, Brenda Blasco of Waterford and Sandra Anderson of Franklin, Tenn.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Melanie (Bob) Sherman, Brian (Kelli) Fleek, Steven Fleek, Bonni (Kevin) Williams, Andrea (Michael) Tubridy, Rita (David) Mitchell, Ronald Fleek, Natascha (Jason) Hutson, and Brenda (Doug) Thompson; step-granddaughters Patricia Ziegler, Marjorie Jones, Cheryl Schofield, and Kristen Blasco; step-grandsons, Carl Jones, Bradley Blasco and Alex Anderson. Also among her survivors are 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces and their families.

Friends and family may call Friday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m., at Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, 33353 N. Main St., Townville, PA 16360, with Pastor Norman D. Aabye officiating.

Internment will take place at Kingsley Cemetery, Townville.
