Mary Jane Kunselman, age 87, formerly of Strattanville, passed away on September 11, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Shippenville where she had resided for the past several years.

Born on July 19, 1927, in Strattanville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel T. and Catherine (Singer) Morrison. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, also having been preceded in death by her brothers Samuel, Robert and James Morrison, and her sister Katherine Kunselman.

Mary Jane was a homemaker who loved cooking, baking, and sewing and spending time with her family. She also worked in some local restaurants and eateries.

She is survived by her sons, Thomas Fye and his wife Sharon of Strattanville, and Raymond Peters and his wife Pam of Strattanville; her daughter, Barbara Ashbaugh and her husband Russell, also of Strattanville. Mary Jane is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Danny, Dawn, Steven, Timothy, Jonathan, Gina, Jennifer, Denise, Diana, Doug, and Jeff; 12 great-grandchildren; and one newborn great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to the members of her immediate family and her husbands, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Dan Ashbaugh.

As per Mary Jane’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or services. A memorial dinner will be held at the Strattanville United Methodist Church at a later date.
