Hatch_Jeffrey Jeffery L. Hatch, age 58, of Kennerdell (Rockland Twp.), died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Monday, September 15, 2014.

Born on October 27, 1955, he was the son of the late Gerald F. and June C. (Gallagher) Hatch.

Jeff graduated in 1973 from Cranberry High School. He then attended Clarion University and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1978 concentrating in English Literature.

Shortly after college, he moved to the Denver suburbs and resided in Lakewood, Colorado for 30 years. There he enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking, fishing, and camping in the mountains. While living in Lakewood, he was employed by McMillan Plumbing & Sales, and then with J.C. Penny as the manager of the men’s clothing department. After his father’s death in 2008, Jeff moved back to Kennerdell and became employed in the family business, Hatch Plumbing & Heating of Franklin.

In his earlier years, he attended Sunday school and services with his family at the Rockland United Methodist Church.

Jeff loved softball and baseball. He also enjoyed reuniting with the close friends he had in Colorado for camping trips together.

Surviving are two sisters, Jerrilyn Weber of North Carolina, and Jeanne Biltz and her husband Chuck of Henry’s Bend; his brother, Jed Hatch and his wife Lynne of Kennerdell; and his nieces and nephews; Jerry Lee Weber and his wife Elena and their children, Scott and Michael; Jennifer Weber and her husband Jason Brown, Ashley Crowley and husband Eddie, Emily Hatch, and Boyd Hatch.

He is also survived by his step-mother, Helen Hatch of Emlenton and two step-brothers, Joe London and his wife Becky and Dan London and wife Carol.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and June Hatch; and a brother-in-law, Jan Weber.

A memorial service to celebrate Jeff’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 27th in the Cornerstone Bible Church, 407 West First Street in Oil City. The Rev. Tim Tygert, church pastor, will officiate.

Private interment will be in the Melat Cemetery, Kennerdell.

The Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc. in Seneca, Cranberry Township is completing funeral arrangements.
