Paul Rankin

4fddc93d3865b72aPaul Rankin, 82, of Kennerdell, passed away September 14, 2014, at UPMC Seneca .

Born April 15, 1932 in Butler County, he was the son of Nelson Rankin and Laura Burk Rankin.

Paul received his education from Byron Center in Butler County before entering into the Army to serve during the Korean Conflict.

Paul married Helen Griffin on July 12, 1958, they shared 56 years of marriage together, she survives Paul attended Rankin Chapel Church.

Paul worked various jobs in the area, Annandale Mine in Boyers PA, Cooper Bessemer in Grove City, William Riddle Construction as a heavy equipment operator, Quaker State Refinery in Emlenton as a pipe fitter and rigger, Stewart Excavating in Kennerdell as a heavy equipment operator, he retired from Sugar Creek Station, working in the maintenance department. He also would work for Clintonville Plumbing and Heating when they needed an extra set of hands.

Paul was a member of the Cherry Valley VFW, Emlenton Rod and Gun and St. Petersburg Rod and Gun. He was a avid hunter throughout his life. Paul enjoyed going to turkey shoots and loved to be outside.

Paul’s biggest joy was helping others, he was always willing to lend a hand with whatever needed done. He also enjoyed riding horses.

His children will miss him keeping them in line.

Surviving in addition to his wife Helen Rankin of Kennerdell are his children; Kris Lingenfelter and her husband Jim of New Castle; Bruce Rankin and his wife Pauline of Emlenton; Tammy Slater and her husband Dave of Emlenton and Kevin Rankin and his wife Valerie of Kennerdell; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Arlene Sherman of Emlenton and Dorothy Stalker.

Proceeded in death by his parents and 4 brothers Donald, Darryl, John and Keith Rankin; one sister Myrtle Logue and a grand daughter Sara Slater.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street Clintonville PA on Wednesday September 17, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9.

Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Thursday (9-18-2014) at 11:00 am with the Pastor Melody Kimmel officiating from Rankin Chapel Church.

Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, Cranberry PA.
