Driver Falls Asleep at Wheel, Crashes Vehicle in Clarion Township

CLARION, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say around 2:44 a.m. on September 14, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80, at approximately mile marker 63.6, in Clarion Township.

According to police, 51-year-old Khurshed Alidodov, of Brooklyn, NY, was traveling east on I-80 when he fell asleep.

His 2007 Volvo exited the roadway off the north shoulder and struck an embankment and then the guide rail, police say.

He was using a seat belt and was not injured.

His vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

Alidodov was charged with a traffic violation.
