steeleTOBY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — A Rimersburg man has been charged with assault stemming from an alleged altercation that occurred on Pump Station Road, in Rimersburg, Toby Township, Clarion County.

According to a Criminal Complaint, around 3:00 p.m. on September 10, 26-year-old Zachery Wayne Steele, of Rimersburg, was at a residence on Pump Station Road with a 25-year-old female and a child.

Documents indicate Steele allegedly approached the female victim — who was holding the child in front of her — and grabbed her by the back of the neck. He then allegedly shoved her into a door frame.

When the female victim hit the door frame, the child’s head allegedly hit a wall, according to the Complaint.

The child was taken to Clarion Hospital for treatment.

The female victim was interviewed at 10:10 p.m. on September 10 at Clarion Hospital. She described the nature of this incident to Trooper Allen and stated she had no injuries, but she complained of pain.

Trooper Allen observed that the child’s forehead and right eye were bruised.

The Criminal Complaint states on September 10, Trooper Allen requested a warrant of arrest be issued for Steele.

Steele was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller on September 12, at 3:00 p.m., on the following charges:

– two counts of Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2

Unable to post $10,000.00 bail, Steele was lodged in the Clarion County Jail.
