Member_138820Leroy Bus Leadbetter, 88, of Mayport, died on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at his home.

Born on September 15, 1926 in Corsica; he was the son of the late John and Pearl Ambill Leadbetter.

Bus married Jean Lyle 64 years ago on December 9, 1949, and she survives.

He worked at the Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion for 35 years.

Bus was a veteran of World War II serving as an Army Medic with the rank of Sargent.

He attended Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Corsica and Asbury United Methodist Church in Strattanville.

Bus enjoyed his farm, hunting, and fishing, watching the Steelers, the pirates, and spending time with his family, especially all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Susan Kemmer and her husband Thomas and Barbara Slagle and her husband Douglas all of Summerville, grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, and Matthew Kemmer and Kiara Slagle all of Summerville, and Briana Steele and husband Guy of Clarion, great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley, Kelsey, Kaitlin, Korbin, and Kamden, one brother, Wayne Leadbetter and wife Judy of Cranberry, two sisters, Goldie Chittester and Patsy Hileman both of Corsica, a sister-in-law, Patsy Leadbetter of Kittanning, and many nieces and nephews.

Bus was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Leadbetter, four brothers, Raymond, Melvin, Clarance, Lloyd, and two sisters, Clara Luther and Ethel Champion.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Asbury United Methodist Church with Funeral services to be held at 1 p.m. with the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion handling arrangements.

Interment will be held at the Asbury Church Cemetery.
