Robert C. Thomas, 88, of Sigel, PA, formerly of Greensburg died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Brookside Assisted Living, in Brookville, Pa.

Born August 30, 1926, in Greensburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles M. and Violet A. Tinsley Thomas.

After high school, Robert joined the US Army. He was a veteran serving during WWII.

On November 22, 1943, Robert was married to Betty J. Thompson, she preceded him death on April 19, 2011.

Robert was employed by Alltel until his retirement.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greensburg. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge 225 in Greensburg.

Robert is survived by a brother, Daryl J. (Jean) Thomas of Sigel, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Charles M. Jr. and Richard E. Thomas; and a sister Hazel Hall.

At his request there will be no public visitation.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2014 at Westmoreland County Memorial Park with Rev. Steve Morris officiating.

Interment will be at the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Twp., Westmoreland County PA.
