Bobby Ray Starcher

Bobby Ray Starcher, 78, of Oil City, Pa. died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 30, 2014 at Park Ave. Rehab in Meadville, Pa. after an extended illness.

Born May 29, 1936 in Cremo, WV., he was the son of Bertha Starcher.

He had served in the U.S. Army Reserves.

Mr. Starcher was married on Feb. 18, 1961 to the former Wilma J. Maze and she survives.

Bobby had worked for Davidson-McNair and retired after 38 years of service.

He had been a member of the Oil City Archery Club and a member of the Knights of Pythia.

Bobby enjoyed hunting and camping with his family, and watching bull riding and wrestling.

He loved going to auctions and later became an auctioneer.

His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Rita Scott & her husband George of Florida, Carolyn Starcher of Oil City & Bobbie Cochran & her husband William of Oil City

Three grandchildren, Eric Conrad & his wife Stephanie of Caldwell, OH, Raymond Cochran & his wife Samantha of Phillipsburg, MO, Rebecca Cochran of Oil City, PA.

One great grandchild, Dalton Conrad

Two brothers, Lora Don Freshour of Burning Springs, WV, Dexter Pete Starcher of New Braunfels, TX and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his great grandchild Riley Duayne Cochran. Three brothers, Harold Starcher, Boyd Woodrow Stuttler, and Louie Ben Starcher. Three sisters, Geraldine Sturm, Lena Earldine Starcher and Margie Nester and his in-laws, Bernard & Belva Maze.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory.

Additional visitation and funeral services will be held on Saturday at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home in Spencer, WV.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made in the family’s name to the Reinsel Funeral Home.
