louise kozek 001Louise C. Kozek, 83, of Oil City passed away on Oct. 6, 2014 after a period of declining health.

Born Feb. 18, 1931 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Ludwik & Teofiola Skiba Jarzab.

Louise attended Assumption B.V.M. Schools and was a graduate of Oil City High School.

She was married on Nov. 8, 1952 to Theodore S. “Ted” Kozek and he preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 2007.

Louise had been the secretary to the principal at Oil City High School for many years.

A member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church, Louise was involved with the booster club, and the church choir.

She enjoyed golfing, having been a member of the ladies league at Speer’s, she also enjoyed baking pies, polka dancing, quilting and sewing and a good game of cards.

She most enjoyed her grandchildren and the time spent with her family.

Louise is survived by her four children, Karen Steffanina and her husband Dennis, of Seven Fields; Joseph Kozek, of Darlington; Thomas Kozek, of Rochester, Pa.; Pamela Daubner and her husband Bruce of Dublin, OH; three grandchildren, Lauren Steffanina, Jeremy Daubner, and Graham Daubner; one brother, John Jarzab and his wife Beatrice, of Oil City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Felix and Peter Jarzab; and four sisters, Stella Kluck, Josephine Reichert, Mae Hackett and Berniece Jasiota.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Sunday Oct. 12 in the Reinsel Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Monday at Assumption B.V.M. Church with Fr. Justin P. Pino, Pastor, Presiding.

Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Assumption B.V.M. Church.
