Mary Ann Baran Frado, 86, of Sanford, N.C., formerly of Farrell, passed peacefully on October 2, 2014.

Mrs. Frado was born Nov. 5, 1927, in Farrell to George and Elizabeth Zusk Baran.

She was a 1945 graduate of Farrell High School and became a cadet nurse during World War II.

Mrs. Frado received her nurse’s training at St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in New Castle and did private duty nursing for many years.

Mary Ann loved to travel and make floral arrangements. She was a good friend to all.

When she lived in the Shenango Valley, she attended West Middlesex Wesleyan Methodist Church. She most recently was a member of The Bible Wesleyan Church, Graham, N.C.

She married Frederick S. Frado on June 11, 1948, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by: a son, Frederick “Terry” Frado and his wife Shirley, Kennerdell; and her daughters, Karen Lynn Rinker and her husband Rodger, Alberta, Canada; Janice Lee Pelton and her husband Ronald, Ashville, N.Y.; and April Rae Norris and her husband Dennis, North Carolina, where Mary Ann made her residence. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth Arlene Klein and her husband John, Hermitage; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Beside her husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents and two grandsons, Seth and Jesse Rinker.
