Head-On Collision Shuts Down Route 28 in Brookville

PINECREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Officials shut down a stretch of Route 28 Tuesday evening following a two-vehicle accident with injuries.

Sources say the accident happened around 9:05 p.m. on Route 28 near Butler Cemetery Road.

Initial reports indicate it was a head-on collision.

At least one person was injured in the crash. The extent of that person’s injuries is not known; however, a landing zone was setup at the nearby Jefferson County Fairgrounds for STAT MedEvac.

Both lanes of Route 28 were closed while crews cleared the scene.

No further information is available at this time.
