UPDATE: No Vehicle Involved in Attempted Child Abduction Near Redbank Valley High School

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) – According to the Clarion County District Attorney’s Office, an attempted child abduction was reported yesterday to the Southern Clarion County Regional Police Department.

It is alleged that at approximately 3:30 p.m., a minor female was accosted by a young male who demanded that she go with him.

The incident occurred on the Redbank Valley Trail in the vicinity of Redbank Valley High School.

District Attorney Mark Aaron told exploreClarion.com, “No vehicle was involved in the incident.”

No other information is being released at this time, according to Aaron.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing.

“In response to this incident, the Southern Clarion County Regional Police Department and the Clarion County Sheriff are initiating a cooperative effort to provide an increased law enforcement presence on the Redbank Valley Trail and in the area of the Redbank Valley High School facilities,” said Aaron in a press release issued on Thursday morning.
