Fay L. Whitling

Fay L. Whitling 86, of Knox passed away Saturday October 4, 2014 at the Eno Point Assisted Living in Durham, NC. Born August 26, 1928, in Franklin.

Fay was the daughter of Samuel L. and Alice (Davison) Miller. On April 10, 1948 Fay married Donald Whitling who preceded her in death on May 1, 2013.

Fay graduated from Rocky Grove High School.

She worked at Krevda Brothers Trucking in Knox for 12 years and the Riverview Intermediate Unit in Shippenville for 8 years.

Fay loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed traveling with her husband to Europe, Alaska and Thailand. Fay is survived by three sons: Dennis Whitling of Durham NC, Donald Whitling and his wife Toom of Yulee, FL, and Brian Whitling of Hillsborough, NC, four grandchildren: Abigail Whitling of San Marcos TX, Andrew Whitling of Wilmington NC, Melissa Whitling of Greensboro NC, and Pradit Whitling of Yulee FL.

Also surviving are a sister Margaret Behana of Perryopolis, PA and two sisters-in-law Darlene Fescenmyer of Knox and Mary Anna Whitling of Knox.

Along with her husband and parents Fay was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Whitling, a granddaughter Rachada Whitling, three brothers Boyd Miller, Donald Miller and James Miller and two sisters Eleanor Rockwell and Helen Rial.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 East Penn Ave., Knox and from 1 to 2 pm Saturday at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Shippenville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the church with the Rev. John A Wood of Faith Lutheran Church of Venus officiating. Interment will follow at St. Marks Cemetery in Kossuth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Fay’s honor to the American Diabetes Association.
