WYANTricharddRichard D. Wyant, 79, a resident of the Soldier’s and Sailor’s Home of Erie and formerly of Franklin, died peacefully at 4:30 PM Saturday, October 4, 2014 at UPMC-Hamot in Erie; following a period of declining health.

He was born October 6, 1934, in Canal Township, a beloved son of the late: John Clark Wyant and Ina Mae Long Wyant.

He proudly served his country, enlisting with the U.S. Navy in1955.

Mr. Wyant had worked as a residential painter most of his life.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as he was able.

Mr. Wyant is survived by two daughters: Sharen and husband John and Peg and her husband Jim and by a son: Jimmie and his wife Donna, all of Franklin.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jason and Charity Tracy, Heather Tracy, Erin and Erica Sibble, James Dulaney, Tammy Beach and Brandy Dulaney; he is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.

Also surviving is his sister-in-law: Earlene Wyant of Franklin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four sisters: Mary Weldon, Sara Hollabough, Elsie Greathouse and Marjorie Lowrie, and by his four brothers: John, Windy, Lemuel and Charles Wyant.

In accordance of his wishes, there will be no public visitation.

A memorial service, in celebration of his life, is being privately planned by his family.
