Allen T. Smith

422ca4dba88c067bAllen T. Smith, 68, of Emlenton passed away October 10, 2014 at the Clarion Hospital after a sudden illness.

Born April 27, 1946 in Indiana PA he was the son of the late Jessie and Maro Smith and his foster parents Howard and Marguerite Smith. Al graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1964 and had recently attended his 50th class reunion.

Al was married to Nancy Trimble on August 24, 1964, she survives. Al was a retired owner operator over the road truck driver. He enjoyed being outside hunting or fishing. He especially loved to mow grass with his great grandson Tristan. He spent time in his garage working on projects and just tinkering on things. Spending time with his family was very important to Al. He had a prized possession, his fathers 1977 yellow and orange Chevy pickup. Al also was a former paramedic that ran with Emlenton Ambulance.

Surviving in addition to his wife Nancy of Emlenton are his children; Wendy L. Stohon of Williamsport, Judy A. Pierce of Jacksonville NC, Barb McCall and her husband Wally of Grove City, Allen Smith Jr. and his wife Paula of Saegertown. His grandchildren: James Lee Jr, Alison Lee, Jessica Holley, Kimberly Smith, Alex McCall, Andy McCall, Haleigh Smith, Dalton Auck, Dillon Auck. His great grandchildren Tristan Hopkins and Kenlee Smith. His mother and father in law Norma and Norman Trimble. His brothers Dale, Dean and Jerry Smith. His foster sister Linda Meckley and her husband Bob, sister in law Christine Tate and her husband Bob, a brother in law Roy Trimble and his wife Sherry; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was proceeded in death by his son Christopher J. Smith who passed away January 1, 2009; 2 brothers Leonard and Wendell Smith and his sisters Leona, Dorothy, Georgie and Anna. A sister in law Judy Barnett.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Saturday October 11, 2014 from 6-8 and on Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 2-4 with funeral services taking place at 4:00 pm at the funeral home with the Pastor Paul Ruffner, nephew of Als with be officiating. Interment will take place at the Emlenton Cemetery.
