(Photo: Jocelyn Uchic) The scores of the sets were 25-8, 25-7, and 25-16 respectively. “I am proud of the way that we played and it was good to see us stay aggressive throughout the entire match.” Said head volleyball coach Jennifer Mills after the game. “Our outside hitters played well and it was good to see Morgan Herold play well in her first career start a libero.” The Golden Eagles were led by Victoria Evans who had 12 kills and four digs, Jocelyn Uchic who had 11 kills and seven digs, and Kelly Shannon who contributed with nine kills and one block. Also for the Golden Eagles Kaley Pittsley led the way with 21 set assists, two kills, and two digs and Miranda Weston added 14 set assists. Morgan Herold led the Golden Eagles with 19 digs and two set assists while Mattison Thornton chipped in with eight digs and two set assists. Cheyney was led by Breanna Joseph who had five kills and seven digs, Kennetha Wallace who added nine set assists and nine digs. The Golden Eagles return to action Saturday October 18th against Slippery Rock at 7 p.m. in Tippin Gymnasium.
