Joseph (Joe) Rhines

Joseph (Joe) Rhines, 78, went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2014.

He was born on June 18th 1936, in Richardsville, PA. He lived his entire life on Moore Bridge Road, Brookville PA.

Joseph served in the United States Marine Corp from 1956 to 1960.

He married Edith (Smith) on June 18, 1959. They celebrated 55 years of wedded bliss this past June.

Joe was a self employed beef farmer and retired in 2006. He farmed with his wife and they raised six children. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, riding ATV and traveling out west.

Joe was a man of great principles. He was loved and adored by his family, friends, and neighbors. Joe would help anyone in need.

He was a joking and fun loving man. He went thru many trials but he remained strong through them all. He was an inspiration of hope, strength and courage to many people including his children. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary (McLaughlin) Rhines, and his brother Donald P. Rhines.

He is survived by his wife: Edith (Smith) Rhines, his six children: Ellen and (Ken) Chamberlin – Brockway, PA, Susan and (Allan) Seigworth, — Brookville, PA, Rose and (John) Nelen – Luthersburg, PA, June and (Wayne) Richards – Timblin, PA, John and (Jen) Rhines – Richardsville, PA, Carl and (MaryBeth) Rhines – Brookville, PA.

He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren: Michael & (Jenny) Chamberlin, Julie & (Timothy) Ianno, Brenda & (Bob) Mishler, Eric & (Rachel) Chamberlin, Ryan & (Annie) Chamberlin, Ashley & (Brian) Hauser, Becky & (Patrick) Berger, Megan & (Ryan) Burley, Gretchen Seigworth, Shawn Nelen, Randy Nelen, Abigail Richards, RJ Rhines and Matthew Rhines. Also 5 great grandchildren: Katelyn and Michelle Chamberlin, Noelle Ianno, Dylan Chamberlin, and Brooke Berger.

Visitation will be at the McKinney Funeral Home at 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA.

The viewing will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 12.

The funeral service will be Monday, October 13 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Reverend Kent Haines will be officiating.

Burial will follow at Riggs Cemetery in Richardsville.

There will be a meal following the service at the Richardsville Community Center.
