Clyde A. Rodgers

Clyde A. Rodgers, 83, of Butler, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 10:05 p.m. in Clarview Nursing Home in Sligo following an illness.

Born in Butler June 14, 1931, the son of the late Joseph Rodgers and the late Marie Geibel Rodgers.

He had worked for Castle Rubber in East Butler. Was a veteran of the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country from November 13, 1952 to October 22, 1954 during the Korean War.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Wanda Shenafelt Rodgers, his daughter daughter, Pamela and Michel Beachem, of Surprise, Arizona, his son, Tony and Cathy Rodgers, of Aiken, S. Carolina, six brothers, Paul and Evelyn Rodgers, of Butler, Carl and Kathy Rodgers, of Alaska, Rege and Margaret Rodgers, of Chicora, Gerald Rodgers, of Butler, Edward and Carla Rodgers, of Butler, Leo E. and Helen Rodgers, of Butler, and one sister, Mary Butler, of Portersville. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Preceded in death by a son, Patrick M. Rodgers and a brother, George Rodgers.

Friends will be received at the Steighner Funeral Home, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main Streets, Chicora, PA, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, at the funeral home. The Rev. John M. Butler of St. Patrick R.C. Church in Brady’s Bend will be officiating.

Full military honors will provided by Chicora VFW, and Chicora and East Brady American Legions.

Burial will be private.
