Thomas-Harrington-1413216232Thomas R. Harrington, 67 of Mooresville, NC formerly of Franklin died Friday October 10, 2014 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC.

Born May 18, 1947 in Westfield NY, he was the son of Arlene Cauvel Harrington and the late Rev. John A. Harrington.

Tom was a well-known Franklin business owner having owned and operated Harrington Machine for many years. He loved being at the shop and working as much as possible.

Tom could make a friend with anyone he met and will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

A former pilot, Tom had a passion for Airplanes and flying. He also enjoyed boating, golfing and restoring cars.

He was a former member of the Meadville Moose Lodge.

On July 28, 2000 he married the former Denise Eaton at Conneaut Lake and she survives.

Also surviving are four children; Jennifer Young of Franklin, Tom Harrington and his wife Candice of Franklin, Amy Harrington of Franklin, and Lori Harrington and her partner Jordan Walker of Cochranton; one step-daughter, Chandra Brenoel of Morrisville, NC; and a sister, Trudy Berg of Montrose.

Additionally surviving are six grandchildren; Rebecca Young, Zakary Lynn, Caden Harrington, Lucas Budzinski, Bryce Karns, and Brock Karns; a step-granddaughter, Hannah Morian; three-great-grandchildren, Adalynn Gutowski, Bentley Youngkin, Kyah Budzinski; and a niece and nephew, Carlene Berg and Timothy Berg.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a step-son, James Morian.

Family and friends welcome Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church 1041 Liberty St. Franklin with the Rev. Randy Powell, Church Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church Cemetery.
