CLARION, Pa. — Clarion University is encouraging students to participate in this year’s Mix it Up Day, an annual event that encourages students to break down racial and social barriers at school.

Students are asked to move out of their comfort zone and sit with someone new at lunch during the October 28 event at Eagle Commons.

“This is a day to abolish stereotypes and allow people to see what else is out there,” said Greg Goodman, Ph.D., professor of education. “Clarion has been participating in Mix it Up Day since 2006.”

Many professors at the university are having their students participate as a class requirement. There will be table advertisements at Gemmell and Eagle Commons to remind students of the event.

Clarion University is the high-achieving, nationally recognized, comprehensive university that delivers a personal and challenging academic experience.
