Ernest C. Emahizer

Member_139407Ernest C. Emahizer, 86, of Boyers, formerly of Emlenton, died at Allegheny General Hospital on October 15, 2014.

Mr. Emahizer was born in Climax, Clarion County, on August 29, 1928. He was the son of Miles and Grace Lucas Emahizer.

A well-known Emlenton barber for many years, Mr. Emahizer also served Emlenton as mayor and a member of borough council. He had also belonged to the A-C Valley Kiwanis Club in the Emlenton Area.

He was a graduate of Porter Township High School. After graduating Mr. Emahizer enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He retired from The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in 1992. Since retirement he enjoyed traveling and the company of his family.

He was married on Feb 9, 2001 to Lois “Tootie” Ritts who survives.

Also surviving is his daughter, Vickie Basile and husband, Allan, of Kissimmee, FL; two grandsons, Joshua Felix and his wife, Courtney and family of Mt. Dora, FL and Charles Felix and his wife, Joyce and family of Howey-In-The-Hills, FL, and four great grandchildren, Alexzander, Avery, Austin and Justin. Mr. Emahizer was also blessed with five step children, Jerry, Karen, Terry, Keith and Bryan Ritts and their families; eight step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and a brother-in-law, James Evans of Rimersburg.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Goucher, and his second wife, Betty Beebe, three sisters and a brother.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday. Private funeral services will be held Tuesday from the funeral home with the Rev. Tod Custer, pastor of Christ Presbyterian Church, Ellwood City, officiating.
