CLARION, Pa. — Clarion University will host a community breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 30 at the American Legion, Main Street, Clarion. The topic will be “Clarion’s Blueprint Communities.”

The Clarion Blueprint Communities effort, designed to revitalize Clarion’s commercial district, is a partnership between Clarion Borough and Clarion University. Clarion Borough was one of only six Pennsylvania communities to be selected for this year’s Blueprint Communities initiative, which is in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Downtown Center and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh.

In May and June 2004, the perceptions of 445 individuals who work, sleep, eat, shop, study, worship, or own businesses or properties in Clarion Borough were recorded as part of the Blueprint Communities perception survey. Information from the survey resulted in a draft vision statement that is being vetted in the community. The core team is creating a foundation from which to realize a common vision for the community.

Attend the breakfast to find out more about the Blueprint Communities timeline, as well as how some projects can be funded and how you can become part of the initiative.

The event is $7.00 at the door and will include a hot buffet breakfast. Please RSVP by calling 814-393-2572 or emailing rsvp@clarion.edu.

The breakfast is sponsored by Clarion University Community Relations Committee.
