Try-outs will be held on Saturday, October 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the Clarion County Park. Players must bring cleats and water. Contracts will be offered on the spot.
The Rampage, entering their 3rd season in 2015, plays teams from Erie, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo areas. Last year, they made a championship game appearance and had 9-1 regular season record.
NWPA Rampage Head coach and Director of Player Personnel Zen Bliss also works as a Regional Scout for the Billings Wolves of the Indoor football league (IFL), from which he has brought in 14 of the 25 players signed to the team in 2015.
Bliss’s background includes Director of Player Personnel of the Rochester Raiders and Offensive Quality Control Intern at the University of Pittsburgh.
Three members of the 2014 Rampage team were signed to professional contracts this year. Most notably, Jeremy Banks, signed with the York Capitals of the American Indoor Football League (AIF).
The Defense is coached by Clarion native Cody Dolby. Dolby also coached at Clarion Area High School. His defense ranked #2 in points allowed and yards per game; 1st against the pass; and ranked #4 nationally by scoring 11 touchdowns, 9 interceptions, and 2 fumble recoveries.
