Ronald Wilfred Jackson

14_021Ronald Wilfred Jackson, 64, of Warren and formerly of Washington Township, Clarion County, died after a long struggle with illness late Friday afternoon, October 17, 2014 in Warren General Hospital.

Born June 18, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Wilfred H. and the late Alberta C. Jackson.

Ron worked in New Jersey with his father at Wilfred H. Jackson & Son, as a Graphic Artist. He was also a computer repairman for Best Buy and a security guard.

He extensively researched the B-17 bombers flown in World War II and published articles as an aviation historian. Later, he assisted his parents in their retirement as they traveled around the USA in their motor home.

When he was a youngster, he enjoyed putting together plastic model airplanes.

Ron was formerly a member of Calvary Chapel in Henderson, Nevada. He volunteered at the Salvation Army and at a homeless shelter in Las Vegas.

Ron is survived by his sister, Cassandra H. Wessel of Lake Lucy Road, Tionesta. He is also survived by a nephew, George F. Wessel of Tionesta. Also surviving him are his niece, Amelia C. Moniewski, and her fiancé, William Deeter of Titusville; and his niece, Naomi S. Carpenter, and her husband, Brian Carpenter of Red Lodge, England. Ron is also survived by three grandnieces, Sarah Bonnar, Alexandria Moniewski, and Jessica Moniewski; and one grandnephew, Kenneth Bonnar.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Tionesta Church of God, with Rev. Terry McGarrity, pastor of the church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Venus Cemetery.

According to the wishes of Mr. Jackson, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 217 Sycamore Avenue, Oil City, PA 16301 or to other Salvation Army programs.
