Bernice Wolbert photoBernice E. Wolbert, 94, formerly of Snydersburg, died Monday afternoon, October 20, 2014, at Golden Living in Shippenville where she had been a resident.

Born February 16, 1920 in Elk Township, she was the daughter of the late Ignatius “Enos” and Elda Motter Beichner.

She married Ralph M. Wolbert on May 28, 1946 at St. Michael Church in Fryburg and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1975.

Bernice was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda and a member of the Rosary Society. She was a housewife and enjoyed canning, baking, gardening and quilting with the Rosary Society Ladies.

Bernice is survived by a brother Henry Beichner and his wife, Joan of Shippenville and a sister, Mary McClelland of Oil City. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nieces. In addition she is survived by her good friends, Denny Greenawalt and Patty McFarland.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters: Martha Cohlhepp, Albert Beichner, Ethel Nugent, Lucy Etzel, Floyd Beichner, Alvin Beichner, Ruth Brandon, Walter Beichner and Delores Whitmire.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, October 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 24, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial donations may be made to the St. Joseph Window Fund, P.O. Box 9, Lucinda, PA 16235 or the American Cancer Society.
