BROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) — Multiple suspects have been arrested in connection with recent bomb threats made at the Brookville Area High School in Jefferson County.

The following statement was released Tuesday afternoon by Brookville Area School District Superintendent Dr. Robin Fillman:

“The Brookville Area High School has had three bomb threats in the past two weeks. Through investigations, suspects have been arrested. Potential pending charges include misdemeanors and felonies.”

“It is the position of the school district and the police department that cases such as these are prosecuted through the judicial system. Restitution may be in upward of $25,000-$35.000 to cover the costs to the district and emergency responders. The Brookville School District’s discipline code states that consequences will result in a full year of expulsion.”

No further information about the suspects has been provided.

Since October 3, three bomb threats have been made at the school, causing officials to evacuate students each time. The threats turned out to be a hoax.

District administrators and public safety will be holding an informational session on Thursday, October 23, in the High School library at 7:00 p.m. All community members are encouraged to attend.
