Robert “Bob” A. Case

Image-16790_20141022Robert “Bob” A. Case, age 74, of Summit Township, formerly of Millcreek Township, passed away peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born in Oil City, Pa., on July 13, 1940, the son of the late, Clyde and Pearl Ebinger Case.

He graduated from Oil City H.S. in 1959 and received his BA Degree from Clarion University, his Master’s Degree from Westminster College, and his Principal’s Certificate from St. Bonaventure.

Bob began career in education in Bradford, Pa. and moved to Erie in 1973. He was employed in the Millcreek Township School District as a principal for 25 years; serving Asbury, Lakewood, Tracy, Ridgefield, and Chestnut Hill Schools. He was a driving instructor for AARP as well. Bob retired in 1998 and spent several years traveling throughout Europe and the US with his wife, Darlene, visiting many lighthouse locations, since he was a collector of them. He spent much of the last six years taking care of his wife of 51 years, as she battles dementia. He enjoyed his weekly golf leagues, following Pirates baseball, and spending most mornings with his wife and their second family at Taki’s Restaurant.

He is survived by two children, Timothy R. Case (Peggy) of Edinboro, Lynn M. Craker (Terry) of Millcreek, his beloved dog, Cricket, one sister, Pauline I. Case of Millcreek, and two grandchildren, Kayla and Timothy R. Case, Jr.

Friends may call at the Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd., on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service there at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
