ERIE, Pa. – Behind 13 saves from Laura Saussol, the Clarion University women’s soccer team broke a four-game losing streak with a nil-nil tie at Mercyhurst Tuesday evening.

In the final road game of the season for the Golden Eagles (3-10-2), Mercyhurst peppered Saussol and the Golden Eagles with 13 shots including six in each half and one in the first overtime. But the Clarion senior keeper, who holds the school record with 15 career shutouts, was up to the task turning away each Laker attempt.

Saussol’s counterpart, Kriten Koch, also didn’t allow anything to get behind her stopping all three Golden Eagle shots on net.

Stephanie Sikora led Clarion’s attack with four total shots and one on goal, while Rhianon Fowler and Anna Chamberlin each had a shot as well.

Clarion closes out its season on Senior Night at 7 p.m. Saturday when it hosts Gannon at Memorial Stadium.
