PERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Authorities in Clarion County have filed charges against a 40-year-old Parker man in connection with the alleged sexual assault of an 8-year-old girl.

Felony charges have been filed against Robert J. Metz, Jr., 40, of Parker, in connection multiple incidents involving the girl.

According to a criminal complaint filed at Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office, the investigation was initiated on May 19, 2014, when Trooper Rodney J. Hotchkiss received a report of suspected child abuse.

Trooper Hotchkiss began the investigation by contacting the assigned case worker, Jackie Cujas, and requesting a forensic interview with the victim.

On May 27, 2014, a forensic interview was administered by Kimberly Fugate, a Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. The interview was recorded and later viewed by Hotchkiss and Clarion County Assistant District Attorney Drew Welsh.

During an interview conducted by Fugate, the victim reported that she was last assaulted by Metz during the week of October 22, 2013; however, she stated that the assaults had been happening since she was 6-years-old.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim stated that during the week of October 22, 2013, she was at Metz’s house in a bedroom “watching things” on a computer. She stated that the defendant was also in the bedroom and at one point, he got up and came over to her.

The victim stated that she was wearing a nightgown when the incident took place. According to the victim, Metz proceeded to grab her arm and then touched her breasts and genitals. Metz stopped and left the room when she screamed, according to the victim. She also stated that there were other people in the house, “but she didn’t say anything.”

During the interview with Fugate, the victim described several incidents in which the defendant allegedly had sexual contact with her, including multiple times in his “Big Rig” and his pickup truck.

Details of those alleged incidents are too graphic for publication.

On May 3, 2014, the victim told a 15-year-old female about the alleged incidents. The 15-year-old told the victim that she should tell her dad about the alleged incidents; however, the girl instead told her mother at a later time. The allegations were subsequently reported to Clarion County CYS on May 6, 2014.

Metz is facing the following charges:

– Corruption Of Minors — Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3
– Indecent Assault — Person Less than 13 Years of Age, Misdemeanor 1 (5 counts)
