Florence-Mcdonough-1414768087Florence Virginia “Ginny” McDonough, 77, of Rochester NY, formerly of Oil City, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, in Rochester NY.

Born May 14, 1937 in Monongahela, she was a daughter of the late Wendell Ray and Florence Jean White Holmes.

Mrs. McDonough was a secretary working for several employers, retiring in 2011 from the County of Venango.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Mrs. McDonough enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and served as organist at the Hasson Height Presbyterian Church for over 25 years.

On September 29, 1956, she married Floyd W. McDonough, Jr., who preceded her in death on September 16, 2011.

Surviving are two sons, Matthew W. McDonough and wife Rosemarie of Rochester NY, and Michael W. McDonough and wife Tasha of West Sand Lake NY; five grandchildren, Kristin Conti, Haley McDonough, Ian McDonough, all of Rochester NY, Alicia McDonough of Watervliet NY and David McDonough of Bristol CT; and one great grandson, Noah M. McDonough of Rochester NY.

Also surviving are a brother, Wendell R. Holmes II of Irwin; one sister, Susanne Roelich of Pittsburgh; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark A. McDonough; two sisters, Patricia Stevenson and Shirley Gerard; and two brothers, Richard Holmes and John Holmes.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 5 pm.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 am Monday with the Rev. Byron K. Myers, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.
